About

Building the right way
from day one

Sevalta is an Italian innovative startup incorporated in Bari on 19 March 2026, registered in the special section of the Business Register as an Innovative Startup under Italian Law D.L. 179/2012. We are in our first month of operational activity.

Our mission is to transform satellite and geospatial data into operational tools for public decision-makers, researchers and infrastructure managers. We work to make visible what normally remains hidden in the complexity of the territory.

In this constructive phase we are developing our first applied research line (SOGLIA), activating scientific collaborations and building the pipeline towards the main European funding programmes.

Under construction

► Launch of SOGLIA Research line (EO + hydraulic risk)
► Activation of institutional scientific collaborations
► Building the European project pipeline (ESA BIC, Horizon Europe, regional funds)

🔮 First applied research line

Research line
SOGLIA

Earth Observation · soil · hydraulic risk

Sevalta is developing a first applied research line dedicated to the integration of satellite, geospatial and territorial data for the study of soil saturation susceptibility, surface runoff dynamics and technical support for reading hydraulic risk.

The research line is currently in a phase of methodological refinement and may evolve through scientific collaborations, pilot cases and national and European funding programmes.

The approach involves the combined use of Earth Observation, SAR and multispectral data, digital terrain models, meteorological data and GeoAI tools, with the aim of building replicable methodologies to support territorial authorities, applied research and planning.

Status

Research line in methodological definition. The development path will be shaped by scientific collaborations, pilot contexts and public funding opportunities.

Theme 01 💧
Soil saturation susceptibility
Study of soil wetting conditions based on multi-source satellite and observational data, to estimate saturation vulnerability in sub-flat terrain contexts.
Theme 02 🌊
Runoff dynamics
Reconstruction of preferential surface flow paths through high-resolution topographic analysis and advanced flow routing models.
Theme 03 🗺
Hydraulic risk & planning
Technical support for the reading and integration of hydraulic hazard areas within territorial planning and risk management frameworks.
Theme 04 🧠
GeoAI & decision support
Development of geospatial AI-based approaches for the interpretation of results and technical support for public decision-makers and researchers.
Contexts of interest
The first areas of interest concern Italian and Euro-Mediterranean contexts characterised by hydraulic vulnerability, territorial complexity and differentiated availability of observational data.
Data and tools
SAR data Multispectral optical LiDAR DTM Meteorological data GeoAI Hydrological models Advanced GIS
Development Areas

What we are building

Not “catalogue services”, but areas of research and development where we are building competencies, methodologies and products. At this stage we are open to scientific and institutional collaborations.

🛰

Earth Observation & Data Fusion

We develop methodologies for the processing and multi-source fusion of SAR, optical, hyperspectral and LiDAR satellite data for environmental and territorial monitoring applications.

Institutional Relations

Building bridges
with research.

We are in the process of activating our first scientific collaborations. We are open to dialogue with universities, research centres, territorial public authorities and incubation programmes.

First contacts initiated

Universities & research centres

We are initiating first contacts with university departments and research centres in territorial engineering, Earth Observation and geospatial systems. Conversations are at an early stage and may lead to formalised scientific collaborations.

Initial exploration

Territorial public authorities

Sevalta’s applied research domain naturally intersects with hydraulic risk planning and territorial management. We are evaluating possible points of contact with competent public bodies for the validation of methodologies under development.

Under evaluation

European & national programmes

We are mapping funding opportunities most consistent with our research trajectory, with particular attention to European programmes dedicated to technological innovation, Earth Observation and climate resilience.

Open to dialogue

Partnerships & open collaborations

We are in our first month of activity and welcome collaborations with anyone sharing an interest in satellite and geospatial data for territorial management, environmental risk and innovation in the public sector.
